DyslexiaCore

DyslexiaCore is a community-driven e-commerce store that sells products on behalf of its vendors. The vendor ratio follows an 90%-10% split with vendors receiving 90% of the profit. Most of our vendors are students, while the rest come from the broader community. Our goal is to help students and small entrepreneurs who are working hard to make ends meet. We serve as a bridge between the seller and the world, helping them showcase their talents and products. Beyond being an e-commerce store, DyslexiaCore also stands for something greater (Our Cause).

Our Cause

DyslexiaCore is dedicated to raising awareness and breaking the stigma surrounding learning disabilities. The founder of this initiative studied at IUM and graduated with a Bachelor’s Honours in Education. During teaching practice, they encountered learners with learning disabilities who were already in high school many of whom had gone through their schooling years unaware of their challenges. Teachers, often managing over 300 learners a day, rarely have the time or resources to provide individual support.

DyslexiaCore has taken it upon itself to help address this issue through a unique approach called the A.S.A.P. Method — Awareness, Solutions, Appraisal, and Platform:

Awareness — Spreading knowledge and understanding about learning disabilities.
Solutions — Sharing ways to support and empower individuals with learning disabilities.
Appraisal — Teaching the public how to identify learning difficulties in themselves or others.
Platform — Providing a space where all this information can reach the community in our case, this website.

Our mission is to improve the lives of African children and learners everywhere. Too many families have given up on their children, thinking they are “slow” or “dumb,” when in reality, they just need understanding, guidance, and support. Together, we can change that narrative, let’s work hand in hand to spread awareness and make a lasting difference.
